Week one of the rest of my life

    Hi people,

I'm 27 and I recently hit the lowest point of my life, not just my weight but in all aspects.

Without going into too much detail my nan who has been supporting me so much recently, suggested I join the gym to give myself something to do to help myself, not just physically but mentally too...

So on Monday 1st December, I joined puregym, the local gym. I arranged to go with a friend of mine to help me get into it and to top e know what to do, he happily agreed and so we made it a thing. On Tuesday night at 9pm I wen to the gym or the first time in my life.

I weighed in at 316lbs when I started,
I have cut out all of my fizzy drinks for just water and squash now. I only eat what my nan says is allowed. It's not so bad, I still get things like casserole, just my diet is miles better now and it's helping me feel like I'm doing something to change my life.

My plan is to go to the gym at least 4 days a week, 3 of those days are weight training with my friend, and one day i go alone and smash out the cardio, I find I want to go more though so i won't stop myself if I have the motivation to.

I am making this thread as a reminder of where I started and as a thing to keep updating with my progress as I go... I don't have a target, I'm just gonna keep going until I am happy with where I am at.

I too am in the very early stages of a lifestyle change, I commend you for sharing. Don't give up. As you get into it a little more, maybe you can try out some of the nutritional advise offered as well. I started with that major change before I moved into working out. You'll find a diet change can jump start the weight loss all over again if you hit a slump.

    Good Luck

    Keep moving

Just remember today is a new day and the way you were in your past isn’t how you have to be today. Stay active and engaged in something.
