    Corvette is hard to beat in that price range.

    I guess if you need back seats, Mustang GT/GT350 are good alternatives. $40k can also get you a Porsche Carrera S or a Caddy ATS-V

    My personal biased pick would be GT350
    Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit softly.

    Even though C6's are too old for me and i can't wait to upgrade from my C7Z to a C8Z, there is no denying how legendary the C6Z is. Supercar performance for it's time and even now.

    Whatever C6Z you find, chances are high that the previous owner fixed the valvetrain issue. So you basically have an LS7 that is legendary in itself. You do a cam and heads and you're not going to be stopped from almost anything you come across. Unless you show up to cars and coffee and run into twin turbo lambo guys or mclaren 720S guys, then you're done. But other than that, for shear fun factor, the engine note, the power delivery, the long gearing, you can't find a better bang for buck, reliability and looks for 35k.

    This, searched for z06's in my area. Found on in Pheonix for 40k.

    09 supercharged putting down 700 to the tire. Only has 55k miles. This would destroy anything on the road outside of your 1000+hp car.

    Also heavier, and you can't see CHIT visibility. And doesn't look anywhere near as good as a widebody C6.

    C6Z has literally became the best bang for buck sports car with supercar performance for it's dollar. Been like that since the C7Z was debuted.

    And when the C8Z is debuted and out on the streets roaming around, the C7Z will take that throne for best bang for buck sports car with supercar looks and performance.

    You just can't go wrong with a corvette.

    Some dude procharged his C6Z, made almost 800rwhp on stock bottom end, just heads and a cam.

    He was beating 1000hp cars lol

    C6 Z and it’s not even close 😎

    Just with intake headers and a tune mine made 500+whp and trapped 127 at the track. Also took it to HPDE at a local track two summers ago, lots of fun.

    You can easily make over 600 whp with just a heads and cam and msd intake and people have gone as quick as 9.1 in the 1/4 mile naturally aspirated (with weight reduction) (car is already light asf because it’s made of plastic lol)

    One last thing if you do buy one make sure to plan on getting the heads fixed if it hasn’t been done. Plan it into your budget it’ll be 2-3k depending on what you end up doing but for 35k$ you’ll be able to buy a clean one and have money left over to fix the heads.

    That's why FBO C6Z's still give stock C7Z's a hard time. Especially against a manual C7Z. The auto might hold it's ground more.

    Another reason why i didn't stage 3 aero my car, because that chit slows down the car big time on the top end.
