Help me choose a good bcaa.

Female with stubborn body fat. 4 months since giving birth and started back up on strength training, kickboxing at 6 weeks post purtum. My issue is, I cant shred the fat although Ive already built my muscle back up pretty good. Taking into accoubt my hormones wont fully be back to normal for another few months.

Im 160lbs, 5.4 if that helps with the grams in the bcaa. Taking no protein supplements, protein in each meal and lots of it. Clean eating 90% of the time, healthy lifestyle besides the daily drink after hours.

Looking to shred the fat for as hard as I work, would like to see better results.

Any help is appreciated, thanks guys!

Don't waste money on bcaa. So, none.

What does clean eating mean to you and what is happening with the missing 10%? What are your daily calories and carbs/fat/protein? This is where your fat loss is, nothing to do with bcaa (except bcaa have calories so if you do everything else exactly the same but drop them, it would help)

You don’t really need to supplement with BCAA, especially if you eat foods high in Protein.

If you ARE going to get a BCAA anyways, I would suggest you take a look at XTend. Their flavoring is amazing.

    dancyneptune,

If you're looking to lose weight, I recommend reducing your daily calorie intake "weekly" or until your targeted weight loss goals are met. BCAAs won't lend much support for weight loss on their own

BCAAs are crucial for muscle growth/recovery and performance. Whole foods such as, (beef, chicken, seafood, and dairy) are all rich in amino acids and are great choices, but their digestion rates are slow and might not be the best option for certain times. BCAAs are instantly absorbed and ready for immediate action where as proteins from whole food sources won't be available for hours and or possibly the next day. I hope this helps

Also, I'd be happy to send you some free samples of BPI Sports Best BCAA if interested

I know I’ll be better off shouting this at traffic but to quote the OP ‘...protein in each meal and lots of it’. She sounds like she’s already got her protein intake sorted so a BCAA product really isn’t needed.

I know you have quotas to fill but come on man, you don’t need to be so relentless with the shill.

If OP is concerned about digestion rates as mentioned, she should just use whey protein as it is fast digesting and contains all EAA's. If OP is mainly focused on how to best flavor their water Xtend Blood Orange is a popular choice

Are you tracking macros? Counting kcals at all? The only way to lose weight is from creating a caloric deficit through diet and cardio. However, cardio is very inefficient for fat loss IMO and should not be relied upon.

When it comes to fat loss contrary to popular belief it is "quantity > quality". How much you're eating dictates fat loss more than what you are consuming. At your weight 130g of protein daily should be sufficient for you. I would take whey over an EAA, but not purchase a BCAA personally.

I use a scoop or two of BCAA's every day. I have for probably close to 10 years now.

I always go with Scivation Xtend or Gaspari's AminoLast. Can't beat the price and flavoring.

The hard work is actually in that 10% of nonclean eating and your daily drink.

Dial in the macros and as said above monitor them weekly or even biweekly with your weight/progress. I’d also say cutting back your drink to weekly opposed to daily will help.

Lastnight I counted an estimate on what I eat daily. 120g protein, 110g carbs, 74g fat and 1560 calories for me being 160lb and 5.4, I see now I should keep better macros if what im using online for macros is accurate.

I dont do cardio, I focus on 1 session a week lasting 30-40 mins each of kickboxing and HITT, along with 3 sessions weekly strength training.

Clean eating me to means whole foods. Not foods from a packet or restaurant or a fast food chain. Cooking scratched from home using good nutrition...dont know how else to say it...

The other 10% is at night with my daily drink which is pretty much 2 shots of rum mixed in with sparkling water. Few bites of chocolate or couple scoops of icecream...nothing too worrying at all.

Did an estimate on macros lastnight and this is what i figured out

    120 P 110 C 75 F and 1550 Cals

You could be morbidly obese to the point of being rolled around like you're in a Willy Wonka movie eating "clean". For bodyweight goals what matters is your daily calorie total, each day. Track everything, every day, including AM bodyweight. If a week or two goes by and you aren't losing weight, drop your daily calories by a few hundred.

Two drinks + chocolate + ice cream nightly could be the difference between gaining weight and losing weight, or holding fast and losing.

Track everything, if it isn't getting the results you want, drop the daily cals

I scoured my pantry for a box of cinnamon brown sugar pop tarts after reading this...couldn't find any. Damn. I usually keep one box in there.

I wouldnt mind getting some samples, thanks!
