If you're skinny fat, do yourself a favor and bulk... 10 weeks progress

As a skinny fat dude, i decide to bulk before cutting and i feel like it was the right decision to make. I've now been bulking for about 10 weeks now and gained 15 lbs (start at 160 lbs) and made some really good progress on my lifts. I just want to show what was possible to accomplish in a pretty short time frame for a skinny fat guy. I'm still planning too bulk until January than cut. I was eating about 3000 cals at first and now at 3700-3800 calories. (Very active job) Curently doing a PPL program 6 times a week with 30 min of light cardio 3 times a week.

Here's the progress pics. Front pic: https://imgur.com/JQeGuXW Back pic: https://imgur.com/bxkqBaO

    Lifts 1rm

    -Bench 180 to 210

    -Squat 253 to 308

    -Deadlift 275 to 352

    Height? Guessing 5'11-ish?

20 rep squat program? Helped me go from 147lbs to 168lbs in 4 months back in 2002. Used to drink a gallon of milk per day.

No, I'm doing Coolcicada's Push/Pull/Legs Routine. 20 reps squat must be insane, I'm dead after 3 sets of 8 reps...

Are you eating enough ? I feel like most people who don't get good results when bulking are not eating enough or not pushing enough at the gym. Are you progreesing every session or every week on your compound lifts ? My 1rm on the bench was 210 last week and I just did 225 today.

Im about to start eating more as ive stalled out on gaining weight (went from 125 to 145 in 3 months). The definition and muscle I have just falls in comparison to you. My bench is pretty weak as I just started last week I can do 5 sets of 5 reps at 95 which is very bad I know lol, also I don't know what my 1RM is since I don't have any training partners as I just moved to a new state. You might have better genetics than me or I just put on too much fat to see any type of definition. Either way your progress is really good bro.

I did lose a good amount of weight before that too, but I wasn't skinny fat at first, I was just fat (220lbs with no muscles). I did try to cut until 10% but I was spinning my wheel because of really low calories and binges. Not saying that bulking first is the only option, but it definitly work.
