Nobody fears Asian Nightmare. Is he even on the PWI500 anymore? No.

Btw, does NXT even win the 55+ demos? I somehow doubt it, they looked to be getting schelacked right and proper, makes me think they just lose hands down. This is far from over, AEW is hardly perfect (Marco Stunt?) and I wouldn't put it past WWE to stack NXT with mainstream stars, let's see what happens when they heavily advertise Undertaker vs HHH with Kurt Angle as the special ref for some NXT show. The purpose of the show was to get young guys some camera time, sure, but now that it's a "war" I don't expect the WWE to allow week after week beatings, either.

He is good, but Triple H has that powerful presence, that allows him to hang with the likes of Rock and Austin.

Wrestling Observer reported that NXT beat AEW in the 55+ male demographic. Every other demographic AEW doubles them or more. NXT is around 750k viewers, and AEW has been over a million for the 3 episodes.

All three weeks viewership has dropped for both brands.

Difference is NXT has had a weekly show for years albeit not on tv while AEW is brand new and has had 3 actual episodes of weekly tv.

I also can't blame AEW for Marko Stunt, Luchasaurus got hurt like right before the show.

It could have been handled better, much better.

I'd have sent Jungle Boy out alone, had him tough it out 2-1 and then either had the LB just beat him or had Stunt run out to help his friend and even the odds, gotten a little initial offense in, but far less, and not had him hang in there for minutes and minutes taking beatings and kicking out. So, he gets his chit in for a bit but once they go on the offensive, they take him out quick. Jungle Boy would have been in there on his own for longer to make up for the time, if they were on a schedule and needed to keep the match the length it was.

At his ridiculous size he should never be presented as a normal guy who just goes out and wrestles, even if it's to end up losing. Guys two and three times his size shouldn't hit him with moves or lock up with him or any of that. He's the size of a child, he's not Rey f'n Mysterio, just too damn small.

Not that there isn't a role for him in the company, I'd treat him like a manager/valet on the outside, have him work the crowd, have the heels get cheap heat on him by attacking him from the outside and knocking him around, even have him rescue his team (with the ref distracted or whatnot) and hit some moves on the heel team. Done right, he'd get a big pop, especially if he'd been playing the damsel-in-distress role and the heels knocked him around before he strikes back later in the match.

What I don't want to see are guys who are 220+ locking up with him, hitting him with moves that he kicks out of or otherwise wrestling a normal match with him.

... so I didn't care for it. Did it ruin the show? No. I wasn't a fan of the match but I can look past a few mistakes, particularly at this stage of the company where it's finding it's way. Hopefully they ween out most of this Indy-riffic comedy stupid chit, and to their credit they have with a lot of stuff and performers. Omega has toned his goofy facials and pointing back, the Young Bucks worked an actual match and wasn't just high spots, the f'n Best Friends put on a good match without overly ridiculous pure comedy horsechit, Orange Cassidy hasn't been on TV, etc...

Overall, on the Jim Cornette scale, with JC being a 10/10 and never forgiving anyone who has done outlaw indy mudshow comedy, who will harshly judge anyone even in the vicinity of that stuff and who will readily condemn and entire show for one lapse in realism -- I'm probably a 4/10 or so, meaning when I listen to Jim talk about non-Trump wrestling, I tend to agree or at least see his side of things. So, I don't have much personal patience for invisible hand grenades and nonsense. Marco Stunt by virtue of his size alone falls into that category, so I don't care for it, but one negative isn't going to ruin an entire company for me, either.

OP stating the literal obvious. Kenny is still arguably the best in the world rn. He's the Best Bout Machine. Not even trying to be a homer for him but HHH was never as good let alone as original as Kenny is imo.

I haven't seen enough of Omega to make a formed opinion. He's winning me over as a star, though.

HHH is a mixed bag. He had legitimate talent, an amazing look in his prime and was capable of hanging with legit top-tier AAA stars like Austin/Rock, but for so damn much of his career he obviously sandbagged so many guys in unsatisfying, frustrating programs, I think it really hampers his legacy. He also abused his backstage clout to do constant long-winded and boring promos for a good 5 years straight, hogging the spotlight, giving these awful promos (he's not especially captivating/entertaining on the mic) and dragging down a lot of talent in the wake of his protected status. Then those just dreadful DX promos and programs, with the awful comedy and constant dragging down of otherwise good teams (Jerishow or Rated RKO; ruined), that was some of the worst chit I've ever seen on a major program, White Castle of Fear level awful, but for months and months, dragging down everyone they worked with into the chit with them.

So for me a lot of guys are better than him, simply because nobody held people back to the same extent and for as long as he did. Even guys who probably had less talent in the ring or didn't have a top tier physique like him, I might rate them well above HHH simply because they didn't unleash all the foul play he did.

Everyone knows Dwayne Johnson and triple h had many matches with him. He guest stArred on SNL when Rock was guest hosting it. He’s been In episodes of popular series throughout the years such as the drew carey show, Bernie Mac and pacific blue. Been guest on late night shoes with jimmy fallon and Conan O’Brien.

He’s an a-level celebrity compares to Kenny.. And a better wrestler too!

Like only something like a sad 70% of people are able to even recognize or correctly name Jesus or George Washington, but 99.9% know HHH?

The argument itself is almost as lame, this idea that HHH being more recognizable to mainstream people when compared to Omega somehow means he's better? Really? You mean the guy whose in-ring career is mostly done, who wrestled for decades in the largest company, who benefited from a boom era created and led by Austin and Rock, that guy is more recognizable than the young guy in the middle of his career who has almost exclusively wrestled in Japan?

Is HHH more recognizable than Omega? Almost assuredly. Was he also an overrated guy who never won a single World Title when he not part of the booking team or married to a McMahon? Was he also a guy who held back basically an entire generation of talent? The same guy who headlined the company during it's initial fall from the Attitude Era ratings spikes?

Greatness is a very subjective term, beyond backstage politicking I'm not entirely convinced HHH was truly great at anything.

Could take out HHH and insert Hogan as far as backstage politicking and ruining other people's careers. Hogan was not really that great either.

In part of WCW, sure, but Bischoff also kept going back to Hogan (and Nash) based on their past successes. I’m not a fan of Hogan for most of his WCW stuff but he was way more charismatic and able to connect with an audience than HHH, which isn’t a huge knock (few can). The point, while he did play games to extend his career and relevance, he at least had been a major star without it.

But guys, in all honesty, Hogan turning heel was one of the single greatest things ever for pro wrestling. Look, I know what I am going to say really dates me and I don't care. HHH is great for showmanship. Listen, pro bodybuilders gave a damn about him because he was Ronnie's pal and he got some real estate in the M&F, Flex, Muscular Development. It was cool. Besides Rock and Cena, or your occasional Batista because of movie roles has enjoyed that. HHH did it first, Rock was big but didn't get in that fast lane till the movies.

HHH was always a quasi bodybuilder. Now look at Dave Pecker and AMI Media that run Muscle and Fitness and Flex, it is littered with Pro Wrestlers. HHH was pretty much the pioneer of this. So has he ever used a moveset like Kenny Omega? No. But has he been used to promote his strong points and try and grow the visibility of WWE? Yes.

Kenny Omega might be better in the ring, but HHH has done more.
