    Grip during 1 handed dumbbell tricep extensions behind the head?

    Are you supposed to grab the dumbbell in the middle and simply hold it firmly in place to do the movement like normal. (to prevent it from sliding down)
    Or do you grab it low, so the plate of the dumbbell rests against the bottom of your hand/palm near the pinky when you turn the dumbbell upside down to lower it behind the neck?
    With the latter it's easier to hold a heavier dumbbell but i don't know if this messes up the form.



    Extra question: Do you prefer the single handed tricep extensions behind the head/neck, or the 2 handed ones where you hold a heavier dumbbell?

    If I do them, it's hand right at the bottom, so I can go slightly lower and not rabbit punch myself with the dumbbell.
    Nowadays I pretty much only use a tricep bar because they're awesome for this.

    If I hold it weird like that then I do it to push the dumbbell instead of pull. I do it for squeezing contraction.
