    Weightlifting shoes

Does anyone have some strong recommendations for weightlifting shoes that can help me with my stance and form? I have flat feet so that creates an issue for me when I have to wear shoes to accommodate to that. I'm looking to really give me a solid stance for squatting and dead lifting. But something comfortable in general that can really help me is all I'm looking for, of course I am open to price variations, but not looking to break the bank.

I bought Romoleo 3's a couple months ago. I love them. Got them on clearance + additional 25% off which is the only reason I pulled the trigger to purchase them. That being said, I'd pay full price now that I know what they are like.
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

    No recommendation...but a WARNING

If you are going to be doing squats, proceed with caution! I wore running shoes to squat forever but decided to switch to crosstraining shoes.

The difference in balance was more dramatic than I was prepared for. The first rep I went down had me leaning to far forward...so to adjust, and leaned further back on the second rep, and fell backward and had to dump the weight off my shoulders (terrifying when you aren't ready for it).

I'm no rookie, so learn from my mistake and proceeded with caution and be mindful the first set or two until you've adjusted to the difference.

Nice, I'm going to check those out, it's a shame there's no where around me to even try basic weightlifting shoes on. So I have no idea how they are generally sized and/or feel.

Adipowers/Romaleos for squatting/benching. Chucks for deadlifting, as a flat sole is safer to lift with compared to an elevated heel (though I've seen one or two people deadlift with elevated heels).

I have Adipowers and Chucks. I bought the Adipowers because they went on sale, and I thought I needed them to hit proper depth. After watching a few form videos and doing a bit of mobility work, the Adipowers just collect dust.

IMO, if you're doing any kind of high impact training, the only shoe you really need is a good crosstrainer. Elevated heels are not a must if you work on form and mobility, and Chucks aren't necessary as long as you can deadlift in socks or with bare feet.

I'd take a look at legacy lifters since the romaleo 2s are no longer being made. I have flat feet and I love them.

You can buy the more expensive shoes... and if your feet are really bad you may want to see a podiatrist for a prescription shoe.

However, I have flat feet myself thanks to Uncle Sam and I use Converse Chuck Taylors.

Flat. Firm sole. Ankle support. Inexpensive.

IMO unless you’re lifting at an elite level they are more than sufficient.

It's been rumored that Reebok will be rereleasing the Crossfit Lite TR's/Power Shoe. Though there has been discussion of this for 6 months online, still haven't seen anything but pre-release models on famous people.

I would not spend a lot of money on shoes. Sambas, vans, chucks, Asics matflex, 0 drop minimalist shoes, etc to start with.

Work a lot on mobility and technique. Kelly Starrett, Stuart McGill, Brian Carroll, Joe Defranco, Dan John, are a few authors off the top of my head I'd look up videos on.

Then look at a heeled shoe to tweak technique based on your bones and style of lifting.

It will be interesting what they come out with and how different they will be compared to the first run they came out with. I like them a lot. Great grip to the ground and flat. Was my favorite flat shoe. Still a close second to my Sabo goodlifts.

The goodlifts are more solid all around. Thick stiff leather. More toe box area. Locked in feel with the metatarsal strap. Fiber board insole to provide solid stiffness like traditional weightlifting shoes have. The outsoles are good but I do like the Reebok's better. Mash the two together and it would be the ultimate flat shoe for powerlifting.

Brandon Campbell has a video on what to expect from the new power shoe in terms of features - which is essentially a rehash of information provided by Jesse Burdick.

I got in to the CF lite TR's late - so the only thing I could find were the low tops. They are my favorite. I like them better than my Sabo Deadlifts and Goodlifts, but I can see where a combo of the power shoe and the goodlifts would be an interesting option.

You can see Brian Shaw wearing the power shoe in a few videos. He wore them at the Arnold for the deadlift. If only Reebok would finally make them available for sale to the public, I'd buy a couple pair.

I use and love the Reebok crossfit lifter 2.0. I have the lifter plus for the home gym but prefer the lifter 2.0. They are more comfortable and are nice and snug but allowing feet to breath. They still have some available on ebay and other places for a good price(found mine at a Reebok outlet).

For FLAT feet, an arch support will be helpful. But it must be a very stiff, robust arch support like the Superfeet Green series.

For a sturdy, but inexpensive shoe:

I bought some Reebok Lifter PRs for $10 on sale. They are nice for squats. I wouldn't pay $100 for them though.

I also use Reebok Nano 3 (I think that's it) and it has a nice flat foot but pretty firm. Always coming out new Nanos so the old models are really inexpensive comparatively.

Also will occasionally d/l and squat barefoot or with socks. Depends on how I feel that day.

I have these VS Athletic shoes and like them so far. I also have very wide feet (4E width) and played hell finding any that fit...these do. I tried the Sabo Powerlift shoes first and they did not fit well.

I also have a pair of the new SABO Goodlift shoes that also work well with my wide feet. I am still trying to get them broke in as they are a little stiff.

I have been squatting in the VS Athletics and deadlifting in the Sabo's.

A shoe thread without a pic of my shoes? How can this be?
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

How about a pic of my current set of shoes?

Inov8 fastlifts, AdiPowers, Reebok TR lites, Sabo gym, Sabo Goodlifts. The Goodlifts are my current favorite and goto for all my lifts now.

I've also had Romaleos, chucks, Asics Matflex, Adidas Powerlifts, some Wal-Mart brand skate shoe, adidas wrestling shoe, Rogue .5" dowins and I'm sure a couple others. I'd like to try some Titan/Safe shoes some time. I was about to get some Risto flat or .5" ones but looks like they just went under possibly. Phones are disconnected and website is down.

It's worth trying Adidas Powerlift 4 https://www.adidas.com/us/powerlift-4-shoes/FV6599.html You can check out Aldo shoes and 1st Step if you don't have enough budget for these shoes https://www.aldoshoes.com/us/en_US/m...twear/sneakers and https://www.1ststep.pk/
