    From 115 to 75

Hi. Let me introduce myself first. I'm new here from today. 31 years and fat most of my life. As kid i was always littele overweight and most of eating was just becouse i was always alone and sad. I didn't had any friends, all other kids didd bullied me and food was my only happy moment.
But real problem started 8 years ago. My girlfriend hmmm let's say I found out that my girlfriend was a prostitute. After that I closed myself and my life was anime , beer, burgers, cheese, cigarettes and porn. As I worked few years as d2d salesman for cabelconnection I had to walk almost all day and it helped a lot my weight didn't go even more up.
To keep the long story short, I'm 31, bald, fat and short. 115kg on 165cm of height, slightly depresed and uncomfortable around people. I even didn't had sex for almost 8 years. So what changed? What was the motivation for this decision? A year ago i met a wounderful girl who i liked to talk with and who wasnt discussed of how i look and who pushed me even to finish my masters in mechanical engineering.
9 months ago she become my girlfriend and since last month she is my fiancee.

Last week I sighned to gym, i'm going 6 days a week, I work out for hour and half every visit and now how spring is comming I will also do some workouts out in woods on fresh air. I changed my whole diet and my daily calorie intake is 1500. Goal if to lose fet and to get on 75kg. I know it will take hard work, swet and time but I don't want to have heart attack in my 30'is and leave a widow behind.

Welcome to the forum, Luterus, and congrats on the engagement!

Also congrats on a more positive outlook because it sounds like you've been too hard on yourself, man. I'd suggest you check out the "Don't look past the basics" sticky at the top of the page and check out the links you'll find there. You've got the motivation but it helps to have accurate knowledge to work with too, and it sounds to me like your daily calories are too low for a dude your size. That big of a deficit could be difficult or unhealthy to maintain, especially with exercise.

Oh you are fine man. Don't worry about that. You can shed that fat easily if you lift 3 times a week for an hour and on your off days, maybe do some light swimming or jogging. The most important thing though, is that when you are lifting, you have proper form. I'd suggest you watch a lot of youtube videos on how to lift properly, and ask any of the trainers that are at your gym to make sure you aren't messing up. You can seriously strain yourself if you are 'ego' lifting. Start with lower weights and build your form, over time, add more weight to your workout. You will see significant growth in a month or so. You and I have similar physique and I started dropping belly fat right away.

As for diet, I'd recommend a ketogenic diet for you. 25 grams of carbs, 25 grams of fat, and about 200grams of protein. There is a Health app you can download on android that will tell you what food has what kind of breakdown. If you stay on this strict but meaty diet, your body will burn fat rapidly.

You need to stop giving out ****ty advice until you can get a grip on a basic understanding of nutrition

In your own thread you say you are 28% body fat, lost 3kg of pure fat but weight 3kg more. Try sorting yourself out before giving advice

If you can see a flaw in the advice, feel free to shoot a hole in it, but it is backed by scientific research.

    OK lol

you have told someone that they can loose fat by lifting an hour and a half a day, three times a week, swim and jog on off days
that will not burn any fat, that will train the muscles and increase cardiovascular health, a calorie deficit burns fat

you then go on in another post to recommend a diet of 200g protein, 25g fat and 25g carbs, that is terrible, terrible, terrible advice, if my maths is correct that is a diet of 1125 calories!!! the calories are ridiculously to low, the protein is far to high, that little fat will result in health issues and issues relating to hormones (aka no boners!) and the low carbs will mean he has no energy

that is backed by science, what your suggesting is full on stupidity

On a ketogenic diet, your body alters the way it utilizes its energy stores and pulls from your fat stores faster. Just because you don't know how the body works, doesn't mean it doesn't work that way. I don't know how well versed you are, but I do research pretty regularly when it comes to dieting and lifting.

Additionally, the more muscle mass you build, the higher your metabolism becomes which in turn, burns more calories per day, thus burning more calories overtime due to the caloric demand your body needs.

If you are so good at research and reading then you must know that 25g fat doesn't even meet medical minimum fat requirements, 200g protein makes no sense at all, and 2 pounds of muscle a noob could build in a calorie surplus with a good lifting program over a month would burn a massive 20 calories a day.

op, a caloric deficit is your answer. i weighed more than u (260ish) beginning of this year. I have been consuming 1850-1950 cals a day, and lifting 3 times a week for an hour (full body workouts). 11 weeks later, and i'm 228lb. some of my lifts have gone up a decent amount. pants size has gone done. every once in a while, i do post workout cardio which is 20-30min walk. i don't run yet because i don't think my joints can carry the stress of my weight yet.

all you need is a caloric deficit to burn fat, and lifting heavy to preserve muscle. work on your form when it comes to lifts, and work your way up. you don't need to be at gym for 6 days a week, 3 times is enough. for your deficit, 1900-2000 calories should be fine. since u, like me, have a lot of fat to lose in the beginning, you can lose 2-3lb of fat safely per week until you reach a certain point (for u, probably 200ish)

a pound of muscle uses about 7 extra calories, its pointless to even mention it. Keto doesnt burn more fat, period.
There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

Well when your done using your ******* as a bowl for your cereal, you can sit at the table and read the science that has been backed my numerous thesis. The ketogenic diet is a real diet and it works. It is recommend that you check with your doctor first to see if your kidneys can handle it, but beyond that, it is fairly safe.

Nobody is saying keto is not a valid option to help one lose weight, but it's not the only way or the best way, it is just the best way for some. However, your advice in general is often based on bronscience or ignorance and is not helpful, so until you are able to filter your research better it's probably best to just STFU.

As for keto, i did keto until now but i will change it for normal diet. Why? I never felt more tired, sleepy and hungry as now.

You have loose skin that's why it is hanging worse than before. There is little you can do about that other than staying the course.

Lose the fat, give the skin up to 2 years to recover, if it doesn't and you are still unhappy with the skin you can have it surgically removed, but that's a huge step and you will want plenty of medical advice before you go down that road.

The important thing is you are losing weight and fat, you are getting healthier, you have already improved your life expectancy and that will only get better.

Good idea to adopt a normal diet. I wish I had seen this thread and shut down the crazy ideas before you took them and ran with it. Only eating 25g of fat makes me want to vomit. lol

I agree with basically everything that was posted by anyone with green rep (have some reps to hand out in here when I get off recharge.) In general disregard any and all advice given by others when it isn't agreed with by posters with over 2k reps.

So wanted to give a 4 year update on this. Well I got from 115 to 67 and goal was 75 and then few very bad things happen and i got to 142kg. Now i am back on weight loss and on 127kg.

Got married, had a company, partner cheated, faked documents, faket signitures and left me with 800 000€ debt in taxes and towards suppliers, 8 court cases of what 6 where positive outcome and 2 where jail sentince for me in total of 1 year or 1 year and 8 months in community work. Got married and when i was without money my wife left me as her sisters talked her into. Had no support and i was on my lowest point. During December 2020 i made some mental changes, left for another country to start new life, made some changes and by june i started to go for walks every day around 8 to 10km, started to weight food and hold food dairy, went for swimming and enrolled to gym and i do alot deadlifts and squats. Changed to keto 3 weeks ago and the reason behind was german food. It has way to much sugar, even most bottled water has 4 grams sugar per 100ml of water. Also i started developing red spots all over body, getting really iritated skin and itchings, my doctor made tests and turns out i developed sugar alargy so only sugar doctor allowes me to eat is natural sugar that is in fruits.

You got this man! I don't know exact macros in all of that but I don't see much protein, maybe 60g of protein? Are you getting your calories in the day? I too went through a rough life, overweight my entire life binge eating, comfort foods and just eating what I wanted when I wanted. Took a cheating wife after only being married for 4 months to kickstart my weight loss journey to a better life. At the end of Dec 2020 beginning of Jan 2021, I was 500 lbs/227 kgs and have lost 120 lbs/54 kgs since. The only thing I can truly give advice on is be consistent with your diet, diet is key!!!! and since you've done it before I guarantee you got this. I'm sorry for what you had to go through but I know you will succeed and get into a better spot in your life, a healthier you will be a happier you.

It all starts with wanting change and doing something about it. I do believe you can do it! It might take you a year or two to reach your desired weight. What you really need to learn is food inclusion and control. You don't need to avoid food, you just have to control the amount you're taking in. Cardio will surely help you start everything then weight training to build muscles.

Today i was fasting all day. No food, no coffee just 3 large bottles of fresh water. Had a walk, made 10km. Surprising i do not feel hunger all day at all. Think i will include friday as fasting day.
