Can anyone tell me what this armpit muscle is called?

So for the last 4months I've been having a weird full feeling in this area.it feels tight and not normal also a crawling feeling aswell and muscle twitching.no pain unless I bench super wide grip as it stretches the area.any ideas what this may be it's annoying .I know what caused it I was warming up on incline bench using 60kg and I felt a slight twinge in that part of my underarm pit. Around 4 months ago.I've seen a dr mri was clear .I've taken time off etc etc but nothing changes.I do rotar cuff exercises religiously aswell super light or with bands

I do believe it is part of the pectoral muscle. I know when I tore my pec, the muscle tear retracted into what seemed to be my armpit area. I could be wrong, though.

I assuming I must of slightly strained the pec warming up on incline with super light weight 4 months ago.it's a really weird feeling no pain unless i go crazy heavy wide grip benching flat or incline and even that is not that painfull its more of a sore feeling.and just sitting around doing nothing its just a weird senation all the time
Kind of like something is rubbing on my armpit like im wearing a tight t shirt .even if I'm not wearing a shirt at all so nothing is accually rubbing on the area.also when my pecs are pumped it feels not right

It's probably your pectoral major tendon. I had ultrasound and mri, both noted a mild inflammation and brushed it off as tendinitis. Fast forward 6 months off, still have it, I think it is actually tendonosis, and it will either take years to go away completely, or just won't.
Just like you, it didn't really kept me from lifting, it was more an annoyance than anything. No real pain, more like soreness, but too intense to be normal, plus this twinge. Also, during the bench press, the last rep would be slightly lopsided because of a very slight weakness, and my affected chest side would feel much, much sorer than the healthy side.
The main symptom before that, was unexplainable very very slow progress on the bench press. Since there was no point lifting with no progress, I stopped to let it heal. It's still "healing".
    Good luck with this...

Mine wasn't very painful at all. It throbbed some. It was very uncomfortable for a few weeks. I had to literally hold my arm with my other hand to roll out of out bed, though. It was a bad tear, too. I had blood bruising all the way past my elbow several weeks later.

Well, tendonosis, or perhaps a SLAP/bankart tear which I hope I don't have (mri was plain, no reactive agent was injected because of muh infekshun risks, so I'm still skeptic because mri without reactive agents tend to miss a lot SLAPs and bankarts...)

Additional note for the OP : if you happen to have my exact condition, I found that doing any kind of exercise slightly exacerbating rather than helping. Even "light rehab" would eventually make it flare again.

Not sure if I have your condition.my mri results came back cLear. I benched today got up to 120kg for 5 reps normal grip no pain.it just feels weird I dont know how to rehab it as I don't know what the condition is.so I'm going to continue training as I'm not making it worse as far as I can tell, I bet if I take off 6 months or whatever to see if it goes away and loose all my gains the weird feeling will probbly still be there anyway so I would of thrown away half a year of gains.
I hate this weird feeling lol.the best way to describe the feeling is its like I'm wearing a super tight tshirt and its rubbing my armpit and I feel the need to remove the tshirt sleeve from my armpit.but I'm not wearing anything other than joggers.but that's a perfect decription

    That's the pec major.

Right behind it, is the coracobrachialis. The musculocutaneous nerve passes through it, and it's often weak and irritating this nerve.
Could be a pec problem, could be a nerve problem.

Did I answer your injury question? Please supply the following info: 1) EXACT spot of pain(s)? (put a mark on a picture); 2) what type of pain is it? (burning, radiative, lightning, aching, jamming up, etc); 3) EXACTLY what movement(s) provocate the same pain? Specifics matter!

    Any update on this?

I have the exact same thing where it feels like a have a tight T-shirt caught in my armpit.

I think it’s coracobrachialis with potentially pec tendon and bicep short head involvement. All of this connects at the coracoid process so an injury to the coracobrachialis could irritate the pec and bicep short head.

Resting doesn’t really help so taking time off is pointless!

Any ideas on how to rehab?
