    Flat foot surgery and lifting

Has anyone here had, or know someone who has had flat foot surgery and who also lifts weights. I've been flat footed for years and I'm at the point where I can still train, I just have to be very careful. I can't run to save my life though and it's honestly depressing. As soon as I goto run I get shin splints. I have arthritis in my back and want to stop it from progressing before it gets any worse. I'm going to be calling some orthopedic surgery this week. My main concern is recovery time and how well I'll be able to lift and run after the surgery.

Hey I am also flat footed and was wondering what led you to get the surgery done. Also, what improvements in your lifting have you noticed after getting the surgery? I have my surgery booked two weeks from now but I'm having second thoughts as to if its worth it to get an arch back, and have my foot realigned. I hope you are able to respond back.
