    help to correct lat imbalance

Hi all, I've been lifting for about 20 months now and I've noticed an imbalance in my lats (left is smaller but equally as strong as the right).

I suffered some left shoulder problems for about 6 months, but I'm back to top form now and have been for quite a while. However I just don't seem to be evening out. I've tried the "lift and it'll sort itself out" method but I'd welcome any other advice

    sorry about the attachment

Your left shoulder injury probably contributed to the left lat being smaller bro though that was 6 mos out of 20 mos. Or your right arm is stronger than left and pulling more in the lat exercises. Maybe do some lat work that involves one arm, if you arent already..... like DB rows, one arm cable rows concentrating more reps/weight/time on the left.
Then with lat pulldowns, other exercises with two arms -- focus more on your left lat.

Just a suggestion, never had this issue though my left gun is usually less than right cause of being right handed.

Thanks, appreciate the input. I'm hitting 1 arm DB rows and lat pull downs and rows that work each arm independently. I'll try and throw in some extra reps on the left to see if that helps bring it in line too

    Have you figured it?

I too notice I have lat imbalance.. I red cardio helps burn muscle mass.. I would start with positioning your body in front of a mirror at home.. its helping.. I position the dominate side as if I am doing a single hand dumbell row while running with no weights but dont do it on the weak side.. the goal is too burn some of that mass on the side if it feels tight.. If its too tight the lat it can shift your arms bones position.. point your fist straight forward with your arms at 90 degrees make sure the radius & ulna bone arent tilted compare both arms.. I would continue trying to make the dominate side smaller & work on the weaker side while mainting the wrist in proper position of arms, dont let them tilt from the muscle imbalance hope this is of some help.. mine is extrememly bad but gotten better today after trying to fix.. GL.. get back to me if you have remidied it thru other methods
