    Energy Drink addiction

I can slam a 16 ounce energy drink per day. Sometimes I can drink 2-3 (16) ounce drinks in a day. Is there a noticeable problem that might occur over a few months or a year? Im trying to curb my obsession and go to about 2 drinks per week. Any input on problems that might happen from drinking one can/day? If my athleticism and training plays and importance in this, it is in the next paragraph. VVVVVV

I work out about 12 hours a week. This includes about 6 hours of running, 4 hours of resistance training and 2 hours of MMA training for sport. My diet besides the drinks consists of about 2500 calories per day. Mostly milk, tuna, chicken, nuts, beef. Supp's are NO Xplode, 100% Whey protein, and Creatine monohydrate. I weigh 210 pounds, 6 feet tall.

do you drink the sugar free (low cal) or the full sugar versions? I usually have 1 low carb monster a day, really helps me get the energy to workout...as long as it fits in your macros I see no problem.

Drop them if you can. Long-term caffeine intake will eventually make you feel tired and worn down all the time.

One quarter in college, I was consuming anywhere between 400mg to 1.2g of caffeine a day from energy drinks. I felt bad all the time. I stopped cold turkey and felt like utter sh!t for ~2 days, worn down for about a week, and then like a million bucks after that. It's amazing how much better (quality) I slept.

I probably wouldn't drink one on the same day you take no xplode. One can on the other days probably won't hurt.

I frequently take in somewhere between 100 and 200mg daily now. I still feel better long-term w/o it, but I feel far from the worn down feeling.

Don't get yourself addicted to caffeine. It sucks. You'll need it to function and once addicted it doesn't give you a kickstart. It will only prevent you from feeling terrible. But without a caffeine addiction, you'll feel fine all the time without it.

Think of heroin addicts. They feel great when they take it the first time. But each time after, the high is never as good, until taking it delivers no high at all, and they simply need it to function.

Obviously an extreme example, but it's the same principle.

if u follow the IIFYM's (poptart division)
    You're in the clear.
    but in all srs:

i used to be"addicted" as a consequence of my lack of sleep/borderline insomnia
with sleeping 1-3 hours per night(by sleep i mean just closing your eyes"

    i could slam for example:
2-3 NOS or 4 rockstar double size daily and feel nothing.
When I stopped being foolish i notice alot of my twitches in my eye or random muscles subsided.
    my anxiety slowed down abit.
and i get a solid 4hoursof sleep now

now a days i mostly 95% drink water but i never felt any withdrawls from stopping my 2-3cans xday.

    Then you weren't addicted.

When I stopped drinking Diet Pepsi (or, weened off of drinking 6 cans a day), it was brutal. Headaches, the shakes, cold sweats. Luckily a can of Diet Pepsi made it go away in seconds (literally). So I did this for about a week or two until I needed less and less. Now I just have a can here and there and I do order it when I go out to eat. I probably consume around 60 ounces per week, down from at least 500 ounces. And the best part is that if I never had another Diet Pepsi, I'd function just fine.

I'd be careful as some energy drinks may contain chemicals such as aspartame which have been known to cause cancer. Moderation can't hurt either. My suggestion is that you start by trying to switch to a more natural energy drink option without all the chemicals.

If I may suggest a specific one, Verve energy drink is quite arguably the healthiest out there. It's pretty much a vitamin formula with some added natural sugar water and caffeine. I find one 8oz a day keeps me going because the Vitamins keep my energy up when the caffeine wears off.

    I'd give it a look here: orangeElite.com/verve/29012

    I hope this helps!

Same here. I consume about 1.2 liters every morning. About 75g of coffee grounds.

I've gone days without any and I don't really feel particularly worse, but I suppose it would take a few days for the withdrawal to truly kick in. However I haven't left my home for more than a few hours for years, so I don't see much of a problem with keeping my caffeine addiction going. Got a cupboard full of coffee packs, lol.

I must say it's a bit excessive perhaps, though habitual caffeine intake has been correlated with numerous health benefits. Probably should cut it down just a tad though. But man... that dark liquid is just too good.

Hey what's up ArchAngel? Haven't seen you around here for a while.

I drink a fair amount of energy drinks or coffee - generally ~250mg of caffeine in the morning.
Read an article about caffeine consumption the other day - sounds like people who were adults in the 50s drank 3 times more caffeine than adults today on average. Thought that was interesting.
Clear eyes, full heart: can't lose.

Hey man, I've been lurking for a while, couldn't really focus much on the nutritional topics - already participating in too many different forums. But I figured I can't stay away forever. It can be a hassle here, but the quality knowledge that is free flowing is too good to pass up.

    Energy Drink addiction

Energy Drink addiction is not bad if you choose the best energy drink. There are so many energy drinks in the market which put negative effect after long term. So its necessarily to find the best energy drink. I am the follower of Rebound Energy Drink from last 2 years and i feel fit more then before. In USA there are 60% followers of the rebound-energy.com. Try it and you will diffidently feel better.

    Vitamins

Hello everyone, lately i collected my health results and i am pretty worried cause the doctor recommended me to remove all of the fizzy drinks from my diet. I tried to limit them but i can't totally resign from energy drinks. Is there any on the market with a lot of vitamins, no aspartam, no preservatives and no artificial sweeteners like this one mutalogroup.com/kabisa/, but available in Europe?

White monsters are so good but it’s a bad habit, I am currently replacing them with things like berocca, those tables that fix up in your water that can have some caffeine in them too. I have gotten the vitiam ones like Vitamin B, Zinc etc

Just anything right now to have in place, it’s hard just to stop so you got to slowly replace to something slightly less bad and then replace again and again until you’re just at water or Soda water if you need that fizz
