    I'm feeling unusually hungry !!!!!!

    sup guys,

so, for the last week and still, I'm feeling always hungry, I mean really hungry ......

I try to avoid insulin spikes and eat whole grain complex carbs but I'm still feeling like I'm in hunger.

last night I ate a steak, a big bowel of green salad and a slice of brown toast .......... then went to meet some friends, suddenly I felt down, headache, dizzy ........... I just wanted to eat any thing,

I grabbed a tuna sandwich from the cafe and I felt a lil better, but it happens alot recently .............

    any explanation ??

    Gross.

If this is your normal diet, it appears to me that you are very deficient in dietary fat. This will cause all the symptoms you describe.

no I'm not diabetic, but I've read that simple carbs lead to insulin spike which makes you hungry and decrease fat burning

So... if your insulin "spikes," it puts you in a smaller caloric deficit of maintenance?

    I did not know that.

The quality of this thread is next to zero. Here we have a gentleman trying to get some information on why he is hungry and even provides a possible reason of why he is hungry.

Multiple trolls and kids provide one liner, passive-aggressive comments to his question instead of actually verifying his idea or denying it and providing some sort of professional advice to why his idea is wrong.

In reality, calorie levels over time have the greatest influence your weight and the amount of body mass you will lose/gain. However, what these one-liners are not telling you is that chemicals within the body also play a role in how your body responds to situations.

High blood sugar levels will make it very hard to lose weight. Insulin is a chemical in the body that assists the body to get rid of high blood sugar levels in the blood. Diabetics have an issue where their bodies cannot produce sufficient insulin levels to keep up with the sugar demand, and thus there is too much sugar contained in the blood stream. In this situation, it is very hard to lose weight.

If you feel dizzy or feel there may be something wrong with your eating patterns I'd highly suggest you to get a physical done with your family doctor... it can't hurt. In most situations though, if you feel dizzy, you are most likely hypoglycemic, the key word being "hypo." This means you do not have enough sugar in your blood stream which can cause confusion, being dizzy, etc. The same can occur for having hyperglycemia, which is when you have too much sugar in your blood stream.

TL;DR: For most people, daily calories have the most affect on your gains/loses, but chemicals in your body can also play a huge role. If you feel you aren't reaching your goals and you're doing everything right, go see your doctor and have a physical done just to be sure.

Exactly... why is he asking us?

Also, it would help if he posted his daily caloric intake, macros, weight and height to see where he actually stands nutritionally. If you don't provide that info, how can anyone help?

I still think he's deficient in dietary fat, but he says he's "ok" without providing any amount of fat he is consuming daily.

Doesn't seem like he wants help all that much, huh?

1.8k seems awfully low. I get intolerably hungry if I go below 2.5 to 2.8k, and I'm not a particularly big bloke in my 40's.

Your avoidance of 'simple' carbs is completely pointless. True, high insulin levels do inhibit fat burning, but only while the levels are high. When insulin comes down, fat burning starts up again. Slow releasing carbs don't send insulin levels as high, but they stay higher for longer, completely cancelling out the effect.

This is the problem when people concentrate on just one fact about the metabolism, and ignore the mass of different pathways & feedback loops whose job it is to keep you functioning regardless of what nutrients are coming in from the gut at any one time.

Your raving hunger is probably something to do with your overall calorie intake being too bloody low. If my dinner consisted of a bit of meat, a single slice of bread & some salad, I'd be ravenous too.
