    Newbie with a Weider 8510

Hey people, i've tried searching for info about the Weider 8510, all i've come across is people saying how **** it is lol, but it's my dads and he never uses it so i'm not gonna go and buy something better when i got this for free.

I only just started getting into bodybuilding seriously last week, i'm about 5ft10 and 160 pounds i used to eat hardly anything i'd sometimes go a whole day just eating a sandwich because i was living an unhealthy lifestyle but i'm eating around 2500 calories a day now and have started using this Weider 8510.

I got some questions about it though, from what i've figured out myself theres about 4 upper body workouts that can be done with this machine, i don't know the name of them but the one that u push forward i assume works the chest and arms? and the one u pull down can work the biceps or triceps depending on how you do it, and the other one that comes down the sides works the shoulders/lats?

Does anyone own one of these/know more about them than me or can direct me to a site that tells me which exercises work which muscles and how many reps/sets to do per exercise?

I'm aware that this machine is probably crap but I only just started getting into bodybuilding seriously last week, i'm about 5ft10 and 160 pounds i used to eat hardly anything i'd sometimes go a whole day and just eat a sandwich because i was living an unhealthy lifestyle but i'm eating around 2500 calories a day now and have started working out.

I've been able to find every exercise i needed on there which is great apart from one, i've found a similar one which is called the "Lying Close-Grip Bar Curl On High Pulley" which works the biceps

it looks very similar to the exercise my machine has apart from i have to do mine while sitting upright instead of lying down, i just want to know if it works the same muscles (biceps) or if it works a different body part?

Here is a link to all the user manuals for Weider 8510 systems.

    LINK

If you have the exact model number heres how to find it you can get the exact manual for your machine. pdf format is free its about $7.00 to have them send you a paper copy. While this isn't and exercise guide like you really need it does tell you all the different ways the machine can be set-up.

It also should have come with an exercise chart. Perhaps your dad has it put away somewhere?

No I couldn't find one on the Weider site either. You won't know until you ask him about it.

You should write to weider and see if they could send you one in e-mail or pay for one to be sent to you. While you can figure out most of the exercises a machine can do there may be some variations specific to the machine, or some that shouldn't be done on that machine as they could allow a cable to slip off a pully or something.

I really have no idea if you are still searching for the exercise chart, but let me know if you are. Ironically I just got this machine this weekend, and it was tucked in with the owners manual. I can find a way to scan and send it to you

Normally I'd give you crap about bumping a long-dead thread...but since you did it in what appears to be an honest attempt to help the OP I'll rep you instead.
