I don’t say this because I am looking for people to say I am beautiful, it just happens to be my current struggle involving why I work out. Some days the confidence soars but other days, like today, I struggle with loving myself. When you hear the guys commenting on some model or celebrity on how hot her body is it’s a struggle to not see all your flaws. Relationships that haven’t worked where you have been treated as worthless garbage makes you wonder sometimes if the value they placed in you would have been higher had you had a better looking body. Value is unfortunately tied into compliments on ones visual appearance. Having kids, also, changes your body. You have loose skin, a belly that is no longer flat, nursing that has stretched you out and you miss being firm and perky. Sometimes, even though in your brain you know better; sometimes loneliness makes you feel hideous. Maybe someday my reason will be healthier but for now that’s why I lift weights.
