I welcome your thoughts on this. Registration is now open for the show I want to compete in on May 21. Last year, I did Men’s Physique, and there were quite a few competitors. I wanted to jump up to Classic Physique this year. However, there were not many competitors in this category last year. In fact, there was one over 40, and one over 45. If I did Classic Physique, I would definitely place, even without massive muscles. In essence, I would be buying a trophy/sword. It is a bit of a safety net, although the preparation is still hard work, and I have not put a posing routine together before. I would have less of a chance in Open, which I would do. I am wondering if I should just stay in Men’s Physique to make it harder, or even cross over both categories.
