Hi squad, I know I havent been on here that much lately. Life has thrown major curveballs my way these past couple years. For a while, I had been looking after my ill parents- Mama at a nursing home with MS and my dad here at home suffering with Parkinson’s disease. If that won’t hard enough, I made the mistake of letting myself fall for a narcissist who used me and broke my heart. That put me in a spiral of anger and sadness. I suffered with a lower back injury but have since recovered, many thanks to physical therapy. I had returned to work on the night shift only to realize that my job had become even more toxic, unstable, and dangerous. I was out of shape but keeping my head up and going to the gym regularly but then March this year, I lost my older sister to the illness of addiction and fentanyl. Since then, I fell into a deep depression and was living my life on autopilot…if that makes sense. Work had become physically demanding, so my workouts weren’t as good as they could’ve been. Fast forward to the present, here comes Labor Day where I’m at work- customers were either drunk, high, rude, and just plain out dumb af. I was making the most of it- smiling, being polite, doing my best until the cops chased a girl into the parking lot. The girl was driving a stolen vehicle, high on PCP, and ran to the sales counter where “lucky me” just happened to be. She grabbed me from behind while police were demanding her to surrender to arrest or risk being tased. She thought by holding me hostage in front of her that she could avoid tasing and arrest. I managed to break free from her, got bitten by her in the process and when the police finally tased her, the wire hit me too. Since then, I’d become an emotional wreck…been thinking about my sister everyday and crying for her, blaming myself for being angry when I should’ve been supportive but growing up with an addict had taken its toll on my family and myself. Been experiencing anxiety and panic attacks following the assault at work, found myself wanting to drink during the day until I had a mini meltdown but thankfully got myself together and made a new plan for my life. This week, I’ve started walking outdoors again as well as turning on the old workout vids. Back on a diet, cooking from home and not eating junk. Monday, I will visit my physician in seek of help for depression and anxiety…post continued in comments…
