Sticky Thread Sticky: TheBroBrah's Guide To Correcting Excessive APT.

For those of you who don't know, APT stands for "Anterior Pelvic Tilt". I recently fixed my APT, i had it pretty bad, definitely a lot worse than most people. How did i get it? Playing video games 24/7 for 2 years straight. Sedentary lifestyles are the biggest cause of APT. Jobs where you are...

Sticky Thread Sticky: Quit doing your own bench liftoffs!!!

I've been in and out of numerous ortho offices the past 6 months trying to rehab a myriad of shoulder issues. A posterior labral tear being the root issue. I was unsure of the exact cause of the tear until I saw a surgeon that really understood bench form and how it relates to shoulder health. I...

Forearm tendonitis?

Was on a full body workout 3 times a week all summer and had an ongoing issue w/my forearms aching, 'top' of arm from elbow to about halfway to wrist. Probably started after too much hammer curls in late Spring. Got better so started some preacher curls in June, but stopped all bicep exercises as...

Today I found I can do several exercises.

I can do bench press. I thought my thumb and wrist would not let me. 95 pounds was no problem. 115 hurt my hand a bit. So 95 then. Ill build that up, my wrists and all. Also I did chin ups with band assistance. My elbow tendon was not the limiting factor. My muscles were. I had already done a...

How hard is it to get a referal to physical therapy?

Has anyone requested it and been denied by their GP, or requested it and gotten it without an MRI? I saw a sports doctor 5 years ago who ordered an MRI, saw the damage, and then ordered physical therapy. He also ordered no running or jumping, just heavy squatting. The physical therapist said...

Am I doomed for surgery?

Age: 31 Gender: Male Height: 5’7 Weight: 160 1.5 years ago, right before the start of COVID, I had a bad pain in the back of my right shoulder while doing dumbbell floor presses. Over the next 3 weeks I dealt with truly awful pain, especially at night, it was so bad that it prevented me from...

I can now squat with my left knee. Here is how:

Most people can use bad form with body weight squats and not feel knee pain till they are lifting heavy weight. They have until then to correct their form, with light stuff just being practice. My right knee is not quite that forgiving, and does not allow running or jumping, but it can tolerate...

Band assisted squats

Anyone here use them? They are for getting assistance at the bottom of the squat. For those adding weight, they are attached to the bar and the top of the squat rack. (My gym squat racks are topless, but they do have pegs.) For those using body weight, people hang onto handles as they lower....

Trampoline for knee injury.

The cartilage behind my knee cap has a crack. My doctor said years ago I had a 20% chance of needing surgery but to avoid high impact, and that I need to do weighted squats and avoid impacts. I can't run on hard surfaces, not even grass, but can on sand dunes and the thick padding some playgrounds...

Angry Is it normal to feel my shoulder is weak after an episode of bursitis?

Ok, so for the last 2 months I've been fighting against a bursitis in my right shoulder. Did an MRI, it was confirmed that it was a light bursitis and a light tendonitis and then he prescribed 10 acupuncture sessions (which I'm currently at the 6th) Now, the pain has gone away, but I feel a...

Facet joint issues - Exercises in gym?

Hi, I'm 22, and lifted roughly 3 times a week from around 17-21. Through dead lifting (and probably squatting) with bad form, I have developed chronic lower back pain (right at the bottom of my back above my ass/on the pantline on the left and right) for the past 1-1.5 years at a pain of around...

Any weight-lifters here diagnosed with osteo in their shoulder joint? 9 years ago I was hit by a car while riding my motorcycle and was relatively uninjured despite a few forward flips onto my left side. My hand (fractured), bicep (strained), and shoulder(undiagnosed) took the brunt of the...

Left Shoulder pain during lat pulldown

I have some slight pain in my left shoulder area when doing lat pull downs. The only time pain comes is when I’m coming down with the wide grip. It feels like it’s in the front of my shoulder but I’m not sure where the exact pressure point is. I do hear my shoulder crack/pop at times. I do...
