Sticky Thread Sticky: The Bench Form Thread

We see a lot of threads asking for bench form critiques on this forum. I feel like most of these threads are made because people don’t know how to critique their own form. They just don’t know what to look for. I’m hoping to narrow that gap with this thread. I’m not going to touch on everything,...

Am i opening up too much with dumbbell flyes? (form video)

I always try to go as low as possible to get that full stretch and then bring my arms up in a big arc, like hugging a tree. However when i look at Arnold at the second gif, his forearms are pretty close to his upper arms. Do you think he simply does that as a way of ''cheat flyes'' because the...

Dumb bell press reps

92kg cut to 80kg. Currently on journey down to 75kg. 5ft11. Throwing up 3 sets of 8 rep incline dumbbell presses using 32kgs, occasionally 34's. Is that average? It feels a bit pathetic given some bloke next to me was throwing up 50's unspotted. Felt like a girls blouse. What says the board?...

Why are more reps recommended for certain exercises?

I usually go for 8 reps and then as i go heavier, around 6 reps or less at my last 2 sets. However some exercises like tricep push downs or leg curls for example, i always read the recommended rep range is around 10. Is there a reason for this? Probably won't matter that much overall. But...
